What is the cover at the club?
Memorial Day – Labor Day cover is $5 on
Friday & Saturday nights, no cover for Sunday Tea. Holiday
Weekends cover may be higher and apply to Tea Dances (Holiday's
never more than $15 which includes all day - Tea Dance and PM
activities). “Off” season cover changes to $3 on
Friday and Saturday, unless there is a special event (like a
cabaret) and the rate will go up to $5. During the winter months,
there is no cover on Friday, and $3 on Saturday.

far is the Dunes from Chicago?
From Boystown we are a little over 2 hours. About
2 ½ hours from O’Hare Airport.

far is the Dunes from Detroit?
Just shy of 3 hours. If you take the new 6 by-pass,
you’ll save about 25 minutes.

the bar open to the public, or just to resort guest?
The entire property is open to the public (pool,
bar, etc.)

How many rooms do you have?
We have a total of 81 rooms, and we sit on 20
acres.

What
are the different types of bars at the club?
We have main bar with large dance floor (the
Disco), we have a big patio bar (Tea Deck), a cabaret (with
live entertainment – see schedule) and a new Game Room
bar that overlooks the main bar and deck. Plus the Pool. We
like to think we have something for everyone.

Do
you serve food?
The Blue Frog is open Memorial Day – Labor
Day from 11 – 6 daily.
It is also open on weekends through October.

What about a nice dinner or breakfast?
There are several great places close by for breakfast,
lunch and dinner. See the gay guide or check with us at the
front desk for details.

Is the Dunes all men, women or both?
We are about 80/20 men/women. We do have three
women’s weekends a year where the property is 70/30 women/men.

Do accept pets in
the hotel?
We do accept pets with a $10 per night pet fee.
Pets are not accepted in the Dunes Rooms.

Is the Dunes transgender friendly?
Absolutely! The Dunes is a great place to be
who you are!!

How far is the beach from the Resort?
Oval Beach is about a 5 minute car ride. The
Douglas Beach is about 3 minutes.

Can you be nude at the Dunes pool?
Michigan has some strict liquor laws, no nudity
in a liquor service area. So, the answer is No.

Are there coffee makers in the rooms?
There are coffee makers in all the rooms except
the original hotel (2 double beds) and the three styles of Dunes
Rooms.

Are there refrigerators in the room?
All of the cottages, suites, king and standard
motel rooms have small refrigerators.

How
are the Dune’s lodging prices compared to other properties
in town?
There are approximately 52 lodging establishments
in town, about 30 are priced higher than we are, and the rest
about the same or below. That is based on in-season weekend
rates.

Can you camp at the Dunes?
No, but we do suggest Campit, which is a gay
RV and Campground.

Do you have male dancers?
Yes, every Friday night from Memorial Day –
Labor Day, plus every Tuesday night in July and August. Be sure
to check our calendar of events.

Do you have Karaoke?
We do Karaoke every Thursday night, year round.

How often do you have a DJ?
Your best bet is to check the calendar of events.
During Memorial Day – Labor Day we have a DJ every Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. We add Thursday in July and Mondays on
Holidays. In the shoulder season of, May, September & October
we have DJ’s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well. November
– April’s we have a DJ on Saturday nights.

What is a tea dance?
A great excuse to have an afternoon party. Our
TEA starts at 4pm and typically runs till 9pm (10pm on the holidays).
It is also a great excuse to drink the Dune’s famous Long
Islands! Tea Dances always have a DJ!

I heard you bought a place in Florida?
Yes, we are now a chain! Visit the Dunes Guest
House on Ft. Lauderdale beach, it is a 10 room guest house,
3 blocks from the Ocean with a clothing optional pool and spa!

What is the closest airport to Saugatuck?
Grand Rapids Airport (GRR) is about 40 minutes
from the Dunes. The Holland Train Station is about 15 minutes
from the Dunes.

Do I need a Car?
To fully enjoy the Saugatuck/Douglas area we
recommend a car – the community really is a driving destination.
